LaJeunesse Award

The Rev. E.L. Lajeunesse wrote the definitive history of the early French history in Essex County. He taught at the University of Windsor for many years and was the author of the book “The Windsor Border Region.”  Essex County Historical Society published the book once again so it would be available to history students and history enthusiast. There is a copy at the U of W’s Leddy Library.  In honour of Father LaJeunesse an award is given by ECHS to a person in the community who has promoted local history. We are pleased to announce that this year’s recipient is Irene Moore is Davis, educator, advocate and author. President of the Black History Research Society since 2010. Davis is involved in a wide array of work and organizations that promote Black History in the Community.
